This August I will be watching a friends son. I am pretty excited to have someone for the girls to play with! They are excited I think as well. I have been trying to get the house prepared for when he starts coming middle of August! Which is almost here! Two weeks about! Prepping for homeschooling Lyla this year, getting the house straightened up and organized, and spending time with my girls has been keeping me busy!
My mother is helping me get things organized for teaching Lyla. I am so thankful she has been so great finding so many items in her home that can help us. Manipulatives and also printing out great items. She has been setting up little containers as sensory buckets. They are amazing! I cannot thank her enough! I was afraid of how much homeschooling costs and really I haven’t had to buy anything. Mostly free printables or homemade items from around the house!
Once, I get it all arranged and set up I will post pictures!! I am hoping to post our home school adventures every week. We are starting September 1st! Wish us luck!
I know it’s a little late but I am wanting to show these adorable pictures of our time together! This is the first year we decided to go to the towns fireworks. Usually, we go to Tony’s side of the family and they have lots of food and they light off their own fireworks. This year it was so much fun doing our own thing! I think we may make it a tradition!
They ate too many cheetos but did awesome when it came to being so close to the fireworks!! It was loud!
I hope you all enjoyed your July 4th! I am definitely excited for next year!!
I haven’t been on here in awhile and I’m not even sure why. I feel like I have been way busy and haven’t gotten much done. I did on the other hand get my bulletin and white board hung up! So excited to have an area to teach. I have to still get some kind of bookcase up to place items in. In the end I think it turned out well.
Excited for when Tenley can sit at the table with Lyla. Either way they enjoy the area a lot.
We went to a wedding at the Mitchel Domes. First time I had been there. The bride was beautiful and the food was amazing.
Since last posting on here I added to my collection of owls. So excited!!
We’ve been soo busy just living life! We just recently took family photos! We will be taking more. First time doing this by ourselves. Tripod works well but if we had a remote it would be much easier.
Here are a few updates of our lives lately!!
We bought a tv stand for 40 dollars on the buy sell and will be painting it!! I will update with pictures!! Can’t wait to pick out cute knobs for the doors!!
This week has been full of rearranging and cleaning. Mainly the toy area and moving out some furniture we had in the area. It was a complete mess and wasn’t really even being used because we couldn’t find many toys! The girls have absolutely too many toys and really I need to sort thru them more and get rid of what we don’t use. It’s hard for me to let go because I feel like Tenley will miss out if we get rid of them. That’s really the hoarder in me! Sad but true! Ask Tony he tells me all the time I need to let go.
So back to organizing the toy area!
In the middle of organizing
With the girls it took me from about noon til 7pm to really get it organized the way I wanted it. Which if the girls were gone would of taken me about 2 hours to get all of it situated. Actually I probably would of gotten more done and purged what I didn’t want. It’s soo hard even to think to get rid of things when Lyla is in the room because she always thinks she needs everything. She’s my little hoarder! Ahh she’s just like me. In the end, I was pretty satisfied with the turn out of the room!
After 7 hrs plus to get this far, it’s going to stay this way for awhile!
So glad that is done for the week and I actually finished my project life journal cards that were due by October 1st. They turned out better than I thought and I really hope people enjoy them. I wont really know if people will like them but I hope they do!
They were sent out as of yesterday and I am really excited to get my 15 in the mail! Also, sent out pen pal letters yesterday! Way late but better late than never!
Here is a little sneak peek at our week:
Our sweet girls playing together
Saturday the girls and I went to our local park by the lake. Was pretty crowded but still had a wonderful time. They have during day hours a train the runs around the park. Very reasonable as well only 95 cents a person for a ride! Lyla wanted to go on the train 3 times! So we did. Tenley absolutely love it a lot. The carousel is pretty neat. It has lots of different animals to ride. Lyla chose the chicken to ride. She did so well holding on!
After being on the train and carousel we went on the swings. Lyla is learning to pump… Forward and back.. Forward and back! She’s slowly getting the hang of it! Tenley just laughs most of the time on the swing. She was pretty interested in the big kids swinging as well!
The only place they have sand now in most of the parks here in town are by the swings. So I had packed a shovel and container for lyla to play in the sand with while Tenley and I rested on a blanket. Tenley was pretty content just watching all the people. I do have to say I am a people watcher as well! Lyla is getting better going down the slides by herself. She gets a little worried going down all alone. Since having Tenley she has definitely become a lot more independent! I am so proud of my big little girl!
Tenley still only had one tooth! Hoping for more soon! Maybe because I hate these restless nights she is having lately! No sleep for mom makes for a very crabby mom!
