In 3 days, my sweet girl Lyla will be 5 years old. Not in a million years did I feel like we would be here. 5! I can still remember the first time Tony felt her kick in my belly. When she crawled across the floor and took her first step.
It’s incredible how much they change in front of your eyes! She is so smart, caring, and loving. Her passion for animals at her age is remarkable. She always tells me she is going to be a vet. She will be successful in whatever she chooses to do when she gets older.
Just a little questionnaire for my Lyla:
Favorite color: All the colors
Favorite food: broccoli
Favorite holiday: my birthday
What do you want to be when you grow up?: veterinarian
Favorite stuffed animal: a little doggy
Favorite thing to do during the day: draw
Favorite animal: snake (thanks uncle Danny)
Favorite season: summer
Happy birthday my sweet girl! You’ve turned into such a lovable girl.
Today, I decided I would do a little research on domain names and hosting. Over the past year I have been on and off on the idea of spending money to make my blog official. I have been nervous about not keeping up with it and then really it being a waste. I have gone over and over with who to host: Bluehost, godaddy and now today 1&1. It’s about 3-5 dollars monthly. Not bad but if I don’t keep up with it, what is the point?! Well, it makes me happy. I love writing and if you know me talking. I definitely have a lot to talk about.
I made the mistake of falling in love with Wiscomom and it’s name and never really searched it much before. Well, it’s a step you must take if you decide to take the leap. To my surprise someone made wisco-mom their domain name. Oh how my heart sunk. It’s my own fault that I didn’t take the leap a year ago, but it still stings. Wiscomom will always be apart of me I think. It’s how I started.
So, here’s to a new name and a fresh start! Now to think of new name for my blog! That’s a tough thing to do! I’ve been going over some ideas and can’t wait to pick one!
I do want to thank you all for following me over the last 3 years. I hope that you can all follow me onto my next journey!
We haven’t started continents yet but I am stoked! These outfits were made by my wonderful mother. She has been such a great help with all of our homeschooling. Printing, making lap books or creating outfits; she goes above and beyond! I cannot thank her enough!
When we do the actual continent I will definitely post new pictures with her playing. Here is a little preview of the outfits while grandma was fitting them on her!
Honestly, I have to say being a stay at home mom is the hardest thing I have ever done. I really love being home and able to experience all the milestones. Somedays, like this week- well have been somewhat of a struggle. My brain hurts, I’m tired and feel very overwhelmed. I know many moms who seem to not have this issue and many of my friends probably don’t realize I struggle as often as I do. I have had a few friends say they wish they did crafts and such with their kids like I do. Well let’s be honest: sometimes I don’t. I don’t feel guilty either. Some days are just let’s watch tv all day and do nothing. Not even get out of our pjs. Yes, pjs are a regular attire in this household. Lately, I have been so blah with laundry well I don’t want to add the enormous pile I already have! My house is a disaster and I keep telling myself tomorrow let’s get some energy and then well it doesn’t happen. Here we are a week later, dishes aren’t fully done, laundry is pulling up, tv has been on constantly, my leggings are apart of me and naps are everyday.
The girls have been testing my patience and each other’s. It’s very hard some days they constantly fight. About who got what, she took my toy, I want to sit there. I would rather relax and just let them know they have to figure it out before I get up and start to separate them. Not sure if it’s the best idea but hopefully they learn that being nice to each other the day goes by much smoother!
Well, now I have rambled on. Let’s just say I am right there with you. You are not alone! Motherhood is hard. It is rough and sown times I think brings out the worst in some. I wouldn’t change it for the world. They make my life complete.
Though I do wish I could afford a cleaning lady! Just saying!
I have been so busy prepping for school that I haven’t been on here much! We are starting September 2nd with the other kids here in our town. It also gives me time to be prepared! Excited to take daily pictures and post weekly of what we had worked on that week! So get ready for preschool overload soon! To hold you off of the excitement many of you know I have a little mini (yes I know I said “small” with two different words in the same sentence) business! LyTen Love! Currently, I have been pretty busy with homeschool that I haven’t been creating much or marketing my business to get business. I have a few items to make for people in a few weeks but mostly been away for awhile. I had just recently finished a new and exciting little creation I would love to share with you! By no means is he perfect but he is oh so cute!
Isn’t he just darling?! He’s for a family member who’s having a sweet little boy! So excited hopefully they love it! Well, I do have plans- yes I always have so many plans- to open my etsy shop! I have many owls made already and now I just need to create a few elephants and foxes and I think I will have enough to open! Wouldn’t that be fabulous!? I think so!!
So here’s to the last weekend before pre-k homeschool marathon, watching another child and opening and running an etsy shop! Please say a prayer or two for strength and encouragement! God knows what’s best for me and I really believe he will lead me the right way! His plan always over rules my plans! I trust him! Hope you all have a fabulous Labor Day weekend!! Enjoy!
This past Sunday I had taken the girls to see my parents. They were pretty excited and so was I! Not only because I love my parents and I miss them but my mother has been prepping items for me to take home! School items! She has a basement full of craft items galore! It’s like a mini store down there!
Little sneak peek of her scrapbook and stamping items!
When I came there the girls played outside with grandpa while my mom and I went crazy going thru things! I ended up with 3 boxes full of items!
Wood pieces, games, paper rolls, bingo markers, stickers, pipe cleaners… So many more things!
Today, I went thru a lot and cleaned out some items and organized it to hopefully work well daily. I suppose the only way ill know is using it and after the first week I may have to change it. Here are some pictures of it. Tomorrow ill post pictures of the different items we have to work with!
To end the day we went and visited Tony’s dad for his birthday! Lyla was so happy she made him a card!
This August I will be watching a friends son. I am pretty excited to have someone for the girls to play with! They are excited I think as well. I have been trying to get the house prepared for when he starts coming middle of August! Which is almost here! Two weeks about! Prepping for homeschooling Lyla this year, getting the house straightened up and organized, and spending time with my girls has been keeping me busy!
My mother is helping me get things organized for teaching Lyla. I am so thankful she has been so great finding so many items in her home that can help us. Manipulatives and also printing out great items. She has been setting up little containers as sensory buckets. They are amazing! I cannot thank her enough! I was afraid of how much homeschooling costs and really I haven’t had to buy anything. Mostly free printables or homemade items from around the house!
Once, I get it all arranged and set up I will post pictures!! I am hoping to post our home school adventures every week. We are starting September 1st! Wish us luck!
Tony and I have currently been dating 7 years and almost 3 months (3 days away).
I am so blessed to have him. He is so wonderful. Not only does he work hard all day, he comes home with a smile on his face and always shows me love. He is so sweet with our girls, they absolutely adore him to pieces! So do I!
This has been the craziest journey I have been on in my life and I have to say I wouldn’t change a thing. Him right by my side. I will tell you some days are a struggle and we really have to work. But isn’t that what a relationship is? Working together. It isn’t just a piece of cake! You do have to make an effort. Within our seven years there has been plenty of ups and downs but he makes things so much better. When I am in a bad mood there are times where he loves to push buttons but I know he loves me so much. He is incredible and really I don’t deserve the love he gives me! I am truly blessed.
Love you forever and a day!
Best years of my life- I cant wait to grow old with you!
I know it’s a little late but I am wanting to show these adorable pictures of our time together! This is the first year we decided to go to the towns fireworks. Usually, we go to Tony’s side of the family and they have lots of food and they light off their own fireworks. This year it was so much fun doing our own thing! I think we may make it a tradition!
They ate too many cheetos but did awesome when it came to being so close to the fireworks!! It was loud!
I hope you all enjoyed your July 4th! I am definitely excited for next year!!
